Dear Sanral,
I use South Africa’s toll road in my professional as well as
private capacity on a regular basis and based on this was not planning on
buying the e-tag on grounds that as a law abiding, tax paying citizen of South
Africa I felt that I am entitled to using our public roads. I have however in
the meantime received an invoice from you stating that owe the amount of R1335
for the two weeks that I used the road in December.
After careful consideration I have decided to purchase your
e-Tag under protest. I have read and agreed to your terms and conditions. Thank
you for providing a service to South Africa. You state that the toll taken from
my hard earned monies will be used on maintenance and upkeep of the toll road.
Please provide me with a copy of the invoice for all expenses incurred by
SANRAL for the maintenance and upkeep of the toll road.
Furthermore I have noticed that the grass is getting a
little too long for my liking driving south on the high way. Please have that
taken care of. I expect my high way trimmed neat, green and weed free. Also
some rose gardens or perhaps tulips would look nice. I will extend your ability
to act reasonable and let you choose between roses and tulips and their
respective colours. As the public servants that you claim to be I find it is
also your duty to pick up all the litter on the highway. No use in us citizens
of South Africa to drive on a dump that we pay for.
On the topic of traffic. I have convened with a group of my
peers and we have come to the conclusion that is in our best interest to toll my web traffic. I
have use your name on my site and social media and will start tolling R1 for
every visitor , like and share. You may be eligible for a discount if you
register Sanral as topic on my blogs and purchase a laptop which I will keep
with me in order to measure the amount of traffic on my social medias. I can
assure you that these funds will be used to maintain my sites. I think this is only
fair seeing as eight out of the ten people I spoke to , agreed that I must do
this even if with your vote, with or apposed, would not have changed the
outcome. Thank you for cooperating.
On the topic of public servants. I was rudely overtaken and
forced into a different lane by a motorcade of BMW’s and Jeeps with flashing
blue lights. I had to move out of the way and even increase my speed to 65km/h
on their insistent hooting and sirens. As they did not have any e-tags visible
I could only assume that they too are public servants and thus I am offended
that I had to interrupt my leisurely drive on our high way because of their
brashness. As we share a sense of leniency and in honour of our young and
hopeful relationship I will not demand a harsh sentence for these ruffians.
Please warn them of future offence and have them flogged.
Regards,
